You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:1 CSB
My DGroup has been studying 2 Timothy together and this past week we discussed chapter 2 verses 1-2. The whole chapter is about being disciples who make disciples, but verse 1 is the foundation. We can't make disciples unless we are being a disciple, and that starts with our own relationship with the Lord.
Paul tells Timothy (and us) to be strong in the grace of the Lord. The word he uses for "strong" means to be "empowered, strengthened, and full." To be empowered and strengthened by God's grace, we have to spend time with Him, in His word and in prayer. Our first priority every day is to nourish our own relationship with God.
Before we "do" for the Lord, we must "be with" the Lord. God is always more concerned with who you are than what you do for Him. So make sure you are spending time with Him in your day
