"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love." Galatians 5:13
Alaska Mission 2025 got off to a great start. We left the church a little after 11am today and had an uneventful ride to Atlanta. We are staying her overnight and will be flying out tomorrow at 9:00am. We are very thankful to Tanya Taggart for driving us down, and Mikenna Thomas for being her travel buddy. Please pray for these ladies as they return home tomorrow.
It was wonderful to see our team interacting with one another and hear conversations going on as they are building relationships. That is one of the blessings of participating in a short-term mission trip, you really grow closer to those you are serving with. While we are serving others, we are also strengthening our relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ.
Our theme verse is Galatians 3:15 above. On this team, we are brothers and sisters in Christ, and we are to use our freedom in Christ to serve others, and do it in humility. We have stressed several times these past couple of weeks that this mission trip isn't about us, it's really not even about the people in Alaska that we are going to serve. This trip is about the Lord, and bringing Him glory, and that will only happen of we serve in humility, pointing people to Him.
Please keep us in your prayers, not only for safe travels and fruitful work, but that our hearts will be right with God and we will serve in the right attitude.
